That role becomes more important when a roaster sells five, ten, or 20 coffees at once. A practical system might keep the brand name, typography, bag format, and label position unchanged while assigning one color to each origin or roast family.
A customer should be able to recognize the roaster first and identify the individual coffee second.
Color can help with that separation, but using too many visual elements makes the range harder to scan. A 2022 Adobe study reported that 46% of U.S. consumers would pay more for brands they trust, so maintaining familiar presentation across repeat purchases has commercial relevance. A customer who bought a Colombian coffee last month should still recognize the same roaster when looking at an Ethiopian natural or a seasonal blend.
Information structure then supports the visual system. Production consistency matters once a design moves from a screen to thousands of bags.
