Extensions		 A Graphic Designer selects and arranges type, art, photos and borders to create attractive material for businesses and organizations. Graphic design requires artistic and technical skills.  It is important for a Graphic Designer to have a mechanical aptitude (ability to solve mechanical problems) and a strong background in computers. Graphic designers often work for a variety of companies designing everything from websites to record labels. They use a variety of print, electronic and film media.  Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of computer software is essential for a successful Graphic Designer.

For this project, the Graphic Designer will need to create an attractive Power Point presentation of the group's research under the direction of the Art Historian, ensure the equipment needed for the Power Point presentation is working properly and expedite the mechanical aspects of the Power Point presentation.

  1. Take notes from the resource websites given for your assigned art craft.
  2. Read page 596 of Art in Focus .
  3. Go to Power Point in the Class to learn how to create a Power Point presentation
  4. Print out Graphic Designer checklist to help you create a dynamic Power Point presentation.
  5. Use the Art Historian Outline filled out by the Art Historian to create a Power Point presentation. Also, communicate with the Art Educator to see if he/she needs slides to help them teach the art craft. SAVE the presentation on a CD or Jump drive.
  6. Work with the Art Historian by facilitating the mechanical aspects of the Power Point presentation to the class
  7. Work with the Art Educator (if helpful to the Art Educator, include step by step or other instructional slides in your power point presentation to help them teach how to create the art craft)
