FORGIVENESS RULE |
| |
|
A student may elect to repeat a course for
credit in order to improve his/her record and/or raise his/her
cumulative grade point average. A student may repeat a course for
which he/she has received a grade of “F” or “I”. The highest grade
earned will be computed in determining the grade point average. The
lower grade and course will be reflected as no credit on the student’s
record and will not be included in computing the grade point average.
The student’s record will, however, reflect all courses attempted and
grades earned. |
| |
|
REPEAT RULE |
| |
|
With the approval of the principal/guidance
counselor, a student may elect to repeat a course (previously passed
with a “D”) for credit in order to improve his/her record and/or raise
the cumulative grade point average. When a course (previously passed
with a “D”) is repeated for credit, only elective credit will be
given. For example, a student repeating Algebra 1 (previously passed)
will receive elective credit only for the first attempt. Two passing
attempts at Algebra 1 will not result in two math credits. The lower
grade will be considered elective credit. The highest grade earned
will be used in computing the grade point average. The lower of the
two grades will be “forgiven.” The student’s record, however, will
show all courses taken and grades earned. When a course (previously
passed) is repeated, it must be during the academic school year
(September through June). |
