International Affairs with Information Technology
Pompano Beach High School is one of Broward County's premier public magnet
schools, providing our students with specialized classes in International
Affairs and Information Technology. Partnerships with local and national
businesses play a vital role in the development and success of our students.
PBHS offers its Partners and Sponsors the following opportunities to
help build a better future for our community and our schools.
Partners and Sponsors will be recognized for their contributions
in our eNewsletter, at appropriate school events and with appropriate
signage.

Foreign Language Competitions, French, Spanish Immersion
Days - French and Spanish speaking volunteers are needed to help with the
festivities and competitions.
International Fair - Held in early May,
the PBHS International Fair is the culminating event in our Celebrating the
Cultures of the
World celebration.
The fair gives us an opportunity to showcase our curriculum, our diverse
student population and our international theme. Needed are individual volunteers
whose backgrounds, experiences & stories can help shed light on the world's
cultures.
Career Shadowing / Mentorship / Internship Programs
Sponsorships
FCAT Immersion - This 10-week program is designed to benefit
students who are in the lower 25th percentile of all students at PBHS. The
class focuses
on the basic skills necessary for FCAT success, including reading, mathematics,
science and test preparation skills.
Foreign Language Competitions, French, Spanish and
Japanese Immersion Days(a) - Students have the opportunity to meet members of the
local ethnic communities,
sample food, participate in craft making workshops, and take cooking lessons.
Donations of food, supplies, and prizes for students are welcomed.
FCAT Learning Communities - Funding provides for substitutes
to allow teachers the opportunity to meet with colleagues to plan strategies
for instructing
students in preparing for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).
International Fair - Held in early May,
the PBHS International Fair is the culminating event in our "Celebrating
the Cultures of the World" celebration.
The fair gives us an opportunity to showcase our curriculum, our diverse
student population and our international theme. Needed are various art supplies,
ethnic performing artists, lunches, costumes and music.
Adopt a Classroom Program - Sponsors can
"adopt" a
classroom at an initial investment of $500, with the money being spent to
purchase
supplies and/or technology to improve student performance in that classroom.
Sponsors typically come from companies represented by parents of students
in the classroom. Career day activities and field trips can also be planned.

Athletic Sponsorship Opportunities
Other needs on an annual basis:

New and replacement equipment.

Entry fees for teams to enter tournaments, as well
as transportation and occasional hotel accommodations.

Sending nationally ranked individuals and teams to
meets.

Filming of athletic events and making highlight videos
to promote our student-athletes to colleges.

Providing pre-game meals.

Assistance for athletes to attend summer sports camps as teams and as
individuals (AAU, Junior Nationals, etc.)

Athletic awards at the sports banquets.
